Genesis bows and arrows: what do NASP rules permit?

NASP equipment rules name the original Genesis bow and original Easton aluminum 1820 arrows, with detailed limits on components and modifications. Use the national rulebook cited below to check the complete setup. Catalog listings help you compare products; they do not certify that an individual bow or accessory passes inspection.

NASP equipment rules

NASP publishes the 2027 National & Championship Tournament Rules at naspschools.org[1]. The sections below cover bows, arrows, rests and replacement parts. Check your event’s additional requirements as well.

NASP rule 3.3.1 permits only the stock, original, unmodified Genesis bow approved for NASP, apart from the allowances the rule book lists[1]. Compare original Genesis listings below, then check the actual bow and its modifications against the complete rulebook. A name match in the catalog is not an equipment inspection.

NASP rule 3.3.4 requires the bow's axle-to-axle length, measured from the center of each axle, to be no shorter than 35.25 inches[1].

Stock counts and prices reflect the catalog data used when this page was built. They can change. Check each product listing for current details.

NASP rule 3.3.3 prohibits the Genesis Mini, Genesis Pro and Genesis Gen-X from NASP programs and tournaments[1]. Listings below distinguish these models from the original Genesis. Their appearance here is not a recommendation for a NASP program.

NASP arrows: original Easton aluminum 1820 only

NASP rule 3.4 permits only the original Easton aluminum 1820 arrows approved for NASP[1]. Other arrow details are specified separately. NASP rule 3.4.3 requires Easton N nocks, the nocks Easton uses on the 1820 aluminum Genesis arrows[1]. NASP rule 3.4.4 specifies Easton’s standard NASP glue-in cone point weighing 60 grains[1]. NASP rule 3.4.5 requires three soft plastic vanes, 2.5 to 3.0 inches long and .4 to .6 inches high, in any brand, shape or cut[1].

The product block below shows current 1820 arrow and component listings; check each item against the rule before ordering.

Arrow rests for NASP

NASP rule 3.3.14 permits the standard NASP flipper rest or Genesis Competition rest, subject to its installation requirements[1]. Check the complete rest rule and the actual product before buying; the rule text does not establish store availability.

Strings and rests that fit a Genesis bow

Compare listed replacement parts against the exact bow specification and NASP rules. Physical fit alone does not establish event eligibility.
