Strings & Cables

Bowstrings and cables are wear items: they stretch, fray, and eventually need replacing, and the right material and build affect both performance and how often you re-tune.

About strings & cables

The string is one of the hardest-working parts of a bow and one of the most overlooked. String and cable materials differ in how much they stretch (creep) and how much they tolerate the environment, which affects how stable your tune stays over time. A well-built string with the right number of strands, proper serving, and good finishing lasts longer and shoots more consistently. Compound bows use both a string and cables routed through the cams; recurve and traditional bows use a single string suited to the bow’s tips and weight. Rob can help match string type and build to your bow and shooting volume.
