What should I check when choosing an insert, outsert, or half-out?
An insert is installed inside the shaft; an outsert fits over the shaft end. Some half-out designs have an internal shank and an exposed section. These parts provide a mounting point for compatible tips, but fit and thread vary by model. Match the component to the exact shaft and point specifications, and include its weight in the complete arrow build.
