Arrow Rest

What does Arrow Rest mean?

An arrow rest supports or guides the arrow at the bow while it is drawn and released. Designs include simple shelves, stick-on rests, spring-loaded launchers, and rests that move out of the way during the shot. Check bow type, mounting pattern, release style, and vane clearance before choosing one.

Why it matters

The rest must suit the bow, arrow, and shooting style. A recurve finger release makes the shaft flex sideways past the riser; a compound rest may need to clear vanes as it falls or drops away. Set up and tune the rest according to its maker’s instructions.

What to check

  • Check bow type, mounting pattern, release style, and vane clearance.
  • Match the rest to the exact riser or bow model.
  • Confirm tuning steps with the rest and bow makers.
